He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?

MICAH 6 : 8 ( NASB )

I was blessed in reading this verse in the early hours of the morning in a blog belonging to a sister in Christ, Cate who writes Beholding Him Ministries. Her devotions are a profitable use of anyone’s time. Cate allowed the verse to speak for itself, which it did for me as I read it. In this beautiful verse we have the manifesto for the child of God; how they should conduct themselves enroute to Heaven carrying His Torch for all to see.

As a child of Almighty God it is our duty to follow His ways, to be a reflection for others to follow in life. Our short mortal calling is to be guides on the pathway of eternal life for all mankind. Such is the magnificent grace of His demands on us, it is to share with others.

We are called to shine as torchbearers of His Justice in a dark corrupt world, showing no partiality to any as we share His Kindness. In this let us take care that pride does not steal our achievements in Him, hiding them in a cloak of self admiration.

Dear reader, let us daily follow His torch of Salvation and Righteousness. May we hold His torch high for all to see and join us on the Heavenly Path to Glory with Him. In this we are obedient to His calling and will receive His reward someday soon.

  1. Micah 6:8 is one of my beloved passages as well, Alan.

    I appreciate how you cautioned not to let our pride cloak us in self-admiration. After all, salvation is God’s work from start to finish.

    I hope your back is feeling better. Prayers for you and Susan. Blessings.

    1. Hi David, thank you for reading and being an encouragement to me always. My back has improved significantly but is still a problem; I can’t bend very much or lift anything yet. But I thank God for the prayers of the brethren and His easing of the symptoms. God bless you this weekend brother.
