For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise. Galatians 3:26-29 (NASB)

“Faith” is an often used term in Christianity which some people struggle to define. The simplest and best definition is found in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Indeed the whole of Hebrews 11 is a role call of acts of faith by great people of the Bible. As Christians faith assures us of salvation and a place in Heaven through Jesus Christ. By faith in Him we believe God for His unseen blessings on our life. We can’t see these things but we believe that God keeps His promises, in the same way we believe in the wind or electricity which we cannot see either.

In our passage today we find four precious jewels of faith in Christ, amazing benefits that belong to every saint. These jewels excited my heart when I read them recently: Jewel no.1, we are all children of Almighty God through faith in Christ. Jewel no.2, we are baptized in Christ and clothed in Him. Jewel no.3, we are all one family in Christ, regardless of race or gender. Jewel no.4, we are children and heirs of Abraham!

Dear reader, does this stir your heart with gratitude for Almighty God’s work of redemption? It certainly excites me that at Calvary Christ not only saved me, but gifted these priceless jewels of faith on me.

    1. Thank you Ruth. I will tell you though today I am doubting I did the right thing posting this so quickly. This morning I saw an alternative format which I feel would have been better in my view now.
